Starting a Front End Engineer guild
Peter-Paul Koch (or Quirksmode.org fame) has been floating the idea of a professional guild for Front End Engineers in recent months, even presenting the idea to Yahoo! recently. You can view his presentation and slides at the YUI blog site.
It’s an idea I fully support. Front End Engineer’s seem to be the poor cousin to back end development; it’s the bastard child of Interaction Design and Software engineering, sitting uncomfortably in both circles.
Are there any New Zealander’s out there wanting to form a NZ Front End Engineer organisation (I know we’re a relatively small industry, but there must be a handful of professionals working on international quality sites).
