Blogging from TechEd 2005
Thought i’d post something while i’m sitting in a TechEd 2005 session.
Telecom’s set up a wireless network to cover the conference, so I’ve whipped out my new Mac 12″ PowerBook in the middle of a MSDN lecture on ASP .NET 2.0 Roles & Memberships talk. Great stuff :).
Check out my Flickr gallery for some camera-phone shots of the event.
Good Stuff
It looks like there’s some really good stuff coming out of the Microsoft camp. I was intially a bit concerned about their new controls (TreeView, Login, etc.) as the code they were producing was all in dirty ol’ tables.
But today we were shown the Template feature that allows for customisation of these controls; so i’m feeling a bit better about it all.
The new Profiles and Roles/Memberships system looks like a real time saver. You can now track users throughout your site and store data items within their persistent profile (like shopping cart items or something).
